    Your role in the team

     

    The Enterprise Economics & Risk Analysis (EERA) team is a cross-functional team operating at the heart of decision-making at Allstate. The team quantifies and optimizes risk and return for Allstate as a whole and provides macroeconomic advice to our portfolio managers to inform investment decisions on our $64 billion portfolio. EERA is led by the Chief Economist and has team members in both the USA and the UK. The team reports to the Chief Risk Officer and provides advice directly to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.

     

    This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data Analysis branch of EERA to support business-wide risk analysis and automation of our decision-making framework. Responsibilities will include coded automation of our value-at-risk and scenario analysis platforms, as well as development of front-end analytical tools and user-interfaces to support our economic capital framework.

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

     

    • Develop web-based user-interfaces to improve usability of EERA’s risk framework
    • Build Application Programming Interfaces across enterprise risk platforms, models, and data
    • Own updates to code base of framework risk models
    • Improve model run-times by improving code efficiency, parsimony, and hierarchy
    • Package analytics into reusable, audited repositories and support business unit adoption
    • Collaborate with senior management customers to support real-time decision making, customize interface preferences, and troubleshoot front-end issues

     

    This role is heavily code focused, so strong computer programming skills are essential.  Data science and statistics experience are highly desirable as secondary skills.  A strong ability to increase efficiency, innovate, and communicate results effectively will set up the candidate for success in this role when combined with the primary requirements

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • Strong programing experience in Python
    • Strong front-end skills in JavaScript or other major web-development language
    • Experience building Application Programming Interfaces across a wide range of software
    • Core understanding of mathematics & statistics

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Programming experience in R, SQL, MATLAB, C, C++, Go
    • Data Science experience
    • Experience building code deployment pipeline solutions
    • Experience working with relational databases
    • Ability to increase code efficiency through parallel processing
