You will have the chance to join a growing and passionate team, working on critical products, whilst being supported with training opportunities and being mentored by some of Belfast’s finest DevOps engineers. By joining our team at this early stage you will be given the opportunity to learn cutting edge technologies and practices in the industry which will be an amazing and truly rewarding experience.

We are expanding our Belfast Fire team by adding a second DevOps engineer. While embedded in this team you will help evolve our infrastructure and our best practices. You’ll work alongside your team members to understand the requirements to help build automated solutions for deploying the infrastructure and services required to run our applications in Azure. You’ll be hungry to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing – the day to day:

You can expect to work within the DevOps realm and write infrastructure as code (Terraform), help advise colleagues, build CI/CD pipelines, and assist as we move to serverless applications. As part of this, you will be responsible for liaising with other infrastructure colleagues on behalf of the engineering team (e.g., networking, DBAs, etc), solving hard problems and learning! We value competency, tenacity and problem-solving, and you’ll find plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and technologies, or even introduce your own best practices to your new team.

We are an Agile development shop and interact regularly with project stakeholders, including demos from each sprint. To support this methodology, we use regular retrospectives and objective measurements to drive continuous improvement and empower our team members to make informed technology and implementation decisions. As part of the development process, you will be involved in design sessions, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn and teach through peer review of code and completed solutions.
