    Your role in the team

     

    The Quality Engineering Product Lead is accountable to lead and provide oversight of all QE activities on different internal/vendor teams within the Broker Distribution Enablement team, coordinate test activities, plan Integration testing, functional, Non-functional, UAT and end-to-end testing strategy, and help execute the testing within a hybrid Agile framework.

     

    The person will play a primary role in planning, implementing, leading, and executing all aspects of Quality Engineering within the Product application area and will be expected to work closely with business counterparts and stakeholders (both internal & external) in Canada and US to ensure requirements are implemented accurately.

     

    The role requires hands-on QE expertise, ability to take initiative and evolve existing QE processes. The right candidate should possess excellent communication skills and be able to translate their analysis of test requirements, prioritization, test methodology and automation objectives into an actionable plan that can be easily executed by various teams and reported up to product application delivery.

     

    The Product QE lead will support the Manager, Quality Engineering by providing performance review/input for the team members and trend analysis for Quality Engineering outlooks.

     

     

    Scoping and Requirement Gathering

    • Gathers business user requirements to understand functional user stories, define technical requirements and tasks, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement actionable items of broad scope and complexity.

     

    Designing, Developing/Coding, and Testing

    • Conducts product scoping, discovery, and framing by researching and analyzing input to understand user story acceptance criteria based on user information needs, system flow, data usage, and work processes, and translating desired features into application design.
    • Codes, tests (e.g. automated unit testing), scripts, and deploys solutions.
    • Participates in design and code reviews to provide feedback.
    • Evaluates, maintains, and improves the performance of existing software.

     

    Release & Change Management, Collaboration, and Product Support

    • Implements new or updated products and applications in collaboration with Quality Assurance (business), technology architects, and other members of the development team.
    • Identifies changes to epics and user stories to be raised as change tickets and conducts risk impact assessments, rollback, and implementation planning.
    • Participates in continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) activities in collaboration with cross-functional technology teams and business units.

     

    Practice Maturation

    • Proactively contributes to the wider community of practice through team knowledge sharing and maintaining abreast of technical and market trends and best practices
    • Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to less experienced team members.

     

    Hours of work

     

    • Standard hours Mon – Fri;
    • Flexibility to meet business needs as required;

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • 4 years of Test delivery management experience leading a complex product delivery.
    • Ability to work with key stakeholders in a collaborative environment
    • Demonstrated ability to understand business issues and develop and implement business-appropriate solutions
    • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Prior experience with implementing Automation strategy and framework for modern and legacy technology stack.

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

    • Computer Science/programming in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, etc.).
    • Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and application development best practices.
    • Agile methodology and best practices.
    • Object-oriented design principles (i.e. single responsibility, open-closed, Liskov substitution, interface segregation, and dependency inversion principles (SOLID) principles).
    • Writing test plans, technical and non-functional user stories, and tasks, and performing code reviews
