    Your role in the team

     

    This role is in the D&IS (Data & Intelligent Systems) Enterprise Data Management area specifically in the Enterprise Reference Data Management team.  This is a key area that supports application and product development across the Enterprise and is an enabler for the realization of the Allstate Enterprise MDM tier and Quantum.

     

     

    The role primarily involves supporting and maintaining a set of Tier 0 Services, as well as the related data lifecycle management tools and applications used to promote and manage the Enterprise Reference data in an Oracle database.  Many developers would recognize these services as the CodeDecode web services (Simple & Complex Codes) and associated services accessible through the Allstate Data Guide.

     

     

    The core tools and services are currently being re-engineered in line with Target State Architecture and will be hosted on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).   Residual services that the Team currently supports on Windows/.NET will be remediated/replaced under an App Rationalization program.

     

     

    The development/support function is based in Allstate NI (ANI).  We primarily support a team of Codes Analysts, split between US and ANI, as well as projects managed out of all shores.

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • Perform enhancement, maintenance and support for the existing applications and services.
    • Identify, design, and drive the modernization, automation, remediation and total cost of ownership reduction of existing applications and services.
    • Analysis of existing codebase and SQL packages to drive performance improvements

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • A minimum of 3 years IT experience; and
    • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in Java and C#/ASP.Net (preferably using Visual Studio 2015)
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of SQL
    • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in GitHub, Jenkins and Octopus Deploy

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience of maintaining system entries in Barometer IT.
    • Experience of migrating application code from .NET to Java
    • Experience working within agile methodologies
