Full Stack Developer (hybrid or remote)

    Allstate operate a very flexible hybrid working policy that will allow you to design your working week in collaboration with your manager with a blend of remote and office working for NI based employees as well as condensed working patterns (4 day week/9 day fortnight). Employees based in GB will be employed on a permanent remote working contract.

    Your role in the team

     

    As a Full Stack Developer, you will build capabilities to prevent and detect when bad actors attempt to defraud Allstate and its customers. It’s an exciting opportunity in a fast-moving initiative that has the potential to add immense value to the company.

     

    You’ll help us deliver on researching and evaluation of new tools and technologies to solve business problems as well as be responsible for designing and building solutions for detecting and preventing fraud. You will have the opportunity to translate business concepts into technical implementations and participate in strategic planning discussions with technical and non-technical partners.

     

    We are focused on developing our platform, so this is where you come in, by providing expert advice to our clients by through effective and efficient utilization of application development and software engineering tools and techniques. No two days will be the same, so develop your career and push your capabilities.

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • 5+ years of software engineering experience of developing and implementing systems at scale
    • 3+ years of Java development experience
    • Experience in developing REST APIs
    • Experience of Continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) such as Jenkins
    • Strong understanding and effective implementation experience of design patterns, data structures, data persistence, software and object-oriented design principles

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Familiar with the following: Spring, Cloud, React, Mongo DB
    • Exposure to Test Driven Development
    • Solutions Engineering
