    Your role in the team

     

    Allstate Business Insurance (ABI) have rolled out a new platform to support our Transformative Growth plans. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growth area that will help to expand your skill base and give you the opportunity to grow and develop in a new platform.

     

    We are helping build the next generation Insurance Engine for ABI and have an opportunity for 6 enthusiastic, experienced Test Engineers to join our new product teams.

     

    Your role, through a combination of technical knowledge and owning testing, will be to ensure quality is built into the new product from the start.

     

    The ideal person will have working knowledge of test automation in complex and large environments, be passionate about delivering quality products and will possess the attention to detail to ensure we will be delivering a quality product.

     

    • Ensures that all upstream and downstream data dependencies are configured correctly to execute end-end tests
    • Collaborates with product owner to define end-end test scenarios
    • Understands expected results for end-end test scenarios
    • Identifies errors in end-end test scenarios
    • Improves velocity of product team with application of automation and scripting of end-end test scenarios
    • Collaborates with Product Owner, SCRUM master, and lead QC engineer to constantly improve quality, availability, KPI's, and velocity of the product team.
    • Ensures that data dependencies for unit and functional testing are in place in time for engineer unit and functional testing.

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hands-on technical role within the Software Development Lifecycle
    • Experience constructing test cases and executing them across functional, regression or system testing
    • Strong knowledge of automated testing
    • Strong Understanding of agile software development
    • Experience using test management tools

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong analytical ability
    • Be able to demonstrate:
      • The ability to partner with peers to deliver successful products
      • The ability to understand and absorb large amounts of information quickly
    • The understanding of different types and levels of testing, including services, UI and performance testing
    • Usage of systems that support Continuous Integration (CI systems) - GitHub, Maven, Jenkins etc.
    • Practical experience with at least one of the following areas: Java, C#, Python, Selenium
