    Your role in the team

     

    This new and exciting opportunity involves analyzing data and ensuring data integrity, working to provide high level summaries of data gathered.

    Allstate Investments manages close to $80 Billion of assets across portfolios for three major clients for Allstate to meet their investment objectives. The business model provides the foundation for daily decision-making and portfolio management. Allstate Investments strives to provide sustainable, competitive, risk-adjusted investment returns and investment-related services for the benefit of the Allstate Corporation. The size of the investment group exceeds 300 individuals across a variety of investment disciplines including taxable and tax-exempt fixed income, equities, private and alternative securities and commercial mortgages as well as accounting, finance and technology. Investment performance for our portfolios has consistently provided excess returns for our customers and we attribute that success in large part to the quality of our people.      Responsibilities include (but are not limited to); 

     

     

    • Working closely with multiple teams/organizations spanning the Investments Technology and Business areas, to develop, support and continuously improve existing reporting processes
    • Needs to be a self-starter, have passion for data, and able to work well independently and in team setting
    • Troubleshooting complex data issues for financial data, including market data, risk analytics, and financial reference data
    • Evaluating data issues through sound analysis and making recommendations for resolution
    • Run front-office reports for analytics teams; develop new reports and solutions as required.
    • Business Analysis. Understanding and converting business requirements into tactical functional solutions with a focus on data
    • Data Governance. Creating documentation that explains the data and linkages between databases to enhance user accessibility of data
    • Data Quality. Develop new rules to monitor the quality of investments data; assist with ways to improve data quality "upstream" from the data warehouse

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • 2 years experience with SQL
    • Ability to use SQL to query large data sets
    • Business Analysis experience

     

     

    The successful candidate must also demonstrate a high competency in:

     

    • Proven commercial experience with Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyze, manipulate, and interpret large amounts of data
    • Having a logical and analytical approach.
    • Good problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to communicate well, build relationships and work as part of a team.

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline
    • Experience of data analysis using Tableau, Power BI, Python ect
    • Experience of Investments (stocks & bonds)
