Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a knowledgeable and talented Accounting Technician to join our UK Finance team on a 12 month Fixed-term Contract. The Europe Finance Department is a core component of Applied's Global Finance & Administration team. It is responsible for maintaining the UK & Ireland general ledger and subsidiary ledgers; processing and recording all revenues/expenses and preparation of financial statements in compliance to generally accepted accounting principles for use by management, shareholders and creditors. Accounting provides oversight and guidance to other UK internal departments to ensure accounting policies and procedures are consistently applied to maintain the integrity of the financial records. Accounting also manages billing and recovery, and UK treasury.
What You Will Do
- Process income collections in an efficient, effective, accurate and timely manner
- Process sales orders and ensure customer queries are handled in a professional and timely manner
- Raise customer invoices and supplier invoices
- Raise Purchase Orders and ensure supplier queries are handled in a professional and timely manner
- Allocate and reconcile incoming and outgoing payments
- Assist with the month end procedure including nominal ledger reconciliations, journal postings and invoice creation
- Bank reconciliations
- Credit Control
- Performs other duties as assigned by immediate manager or management team.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
- Education: GCE A Levels
- Experience: 1 or more years of prior clerical accounting experience within accounts payable/receivable
- Technical / Functional Skills:
- Working knowledge of basic accounting terminology and procedures
- Highly experienced in Excel, including analysis and management of large volumes of data
- Good working knowledge of automated accounting systems
- Ability to work to high level of accuracy
- Ability to work in team environment and collaborate with others
- Ability to manage time in an efficient manner and meeting deadlines
- High level attention to detail
