Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Full Stack Developer to play a key role in completing complex programming assignments for our suite of insurance automation products. In this role, you will be assigned to an Agile Scrum team that develops and supports applications for insurance brokerages and their customers via native PC and web applications on internet connected devices (browsers, tablets and phones). You will be counted on to provide your peers with technical expertise that will offer solutions for difficult programming problems. You will have the opportunity to work on the development of a brand new product, working closely with your team to bring the product from concept through to release.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
- Identify and communicate new technical ideas to improve and enhance the products
- Become a dedicated participant of your Agile Scrum team
- Collaborating with other members on the Scrum team to self-manage feature development to completion
- Participating in the Daily Stand-up to communicate your progress and issues with the team and to offer ideas/solutions to issues raised by other team members
- Participating in Sprint Reviews of completed functionality at the end of each sprint
- Participating in Sprint planning of future development tasks
- Completing all developer-level duties, including creating, maintaining, and modifying code
- Working with relational databases including writing efficient queries and creating database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, functions and triggers
- Developing and improving coding standards and procedures
What You Will Need to Be Successful
- Must have:
- 2-3 years experience working within .NET technologies
- Strong web development experience working with; HTML, JavaScript, CSS
- Strong communication skills to work within an exciting team at Applied
- Excellent problem-solving skills; strong logical reasoning and solution oriented
- Desired skills (but not required):
- Experience working with ASP.NET Core, Typescript and React a bonus
- History of working within an agile environment
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services an asset but not essential
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or equivalent work experience
