IT Technical Lead

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join the IT & Information Security team within a newly established Technology & Digital Development function of one of the leading banks in Northern Ireland.     The Role 

    As IT Technical Lead you will help lead the delivery of a wide range of IT services for the Bank. You will work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders within the project delivery lifecycle; and also act as IT Service/Application Owner – working with other IT, business and 3rd party stakeholders in order to provide ongoing support for the Bank’s IT Services.

     

    As IT Technical Lead, you’ll:

    • Apply knowledge of industry trends and developments to continuously improve service delivery to our clients (internal and external).
    • Advise, guide and challenge the business in relation to IT-enabled transformation, in order to support the achievement of business objectives.
    • Work with Business Analysts to understand business requirements so that solution options that are recommended provide the best fit against functional and non-functional requirements
    • Provide technical design authority and direction to key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle in relation to the planning, implementation, and go-live of new or enhanced IT Services.
    • Proactively manage the development of the infrastructure and application portfolio to ensure that suitable technology roadmaps are in place to guide future development of IT Services (including consideration of IT Security implications)
    • Support the deployment of infrastructure to enable new solutions for the Bank (e.g. using technologies such as OpenShift; Kubernetes, etc.)
    • Act as the key point of contact with IT Risk & Security Management teams in relation to, for example, IT Security Risk Assessments, consideration of cloud services adoption, etc.
    • Directly manage technical resources within budget and project schedule in relation to IT projects, or within the technical workstream of larger business transformation projects
    • Own the development lifecycle and take responsibility for managing technical risks throughout the project. Provide technical oversight of project deliverables
    • Oversee and assist with the transition of IT products and services into operational business-as-usual (as part of a DevOps model).
    • Provide technical expertise and support for Group IT Operations Management teams in the resolution of complex incidents and problems.
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge and technical competence in areas such as application development (e.g. through Agile methods); DevOps; external hosting & cloud service provision; database development.

     

    What skills / qualifications will you need?

    Essential

    • Experience of using cloud-based technologies to help drive business success (including for example any of the following – Openshift, Kubernetes, Google cloud, MS Azure, AWS)
    • Experience of DevOps processes and technologies.
    • Experience of assessing IT risk and security implications of new or enhanced solutions.
    • Experience of successful delivery within an IT project environment – working within the IT development lifecycle and understanding of agile methods.

    • This is a full time role at 35 hours per week.
