Software Development Engineer in Test

• As an integral member of ESO’s Engineering team, you will be fully embedded in one of our Belfast based Product teams, working closely with ESO’s highly talented Engineers to test the next generation of SaaS web products.  Quality is at the forefront of what we do, this means tester involvement right from the get-go.  Our engineers are passionate about their craft and revel in shipping software that improves patient care and community safety.  If you are creative, thorough, and passionate about quality, this is the role for you.  

   

  Our amazing new Belfast City Centre office is currently open, and staff are currently welcome to choose if they prefer to work here or work a hybrid model. This role will report to the Development Manager.  

   

  We are currently recruiting for our Patient Registry, Fire and Suite and Inventory teams.  

   

  What You’ll Be Doing – the day to day

   

  You can expect to: 

  • Design, plan, and execute test plans and test cases for ESO’s SaaS and mobile products. (Your work will be essential to ensuring that our product offerings meet and exceed our customer’s expectations by testing all tiers in our distributed application stack.) 
  • Verify data flows within applications, test on variety of device types (web, mobile), as well as verify proper software behavior at various levels (UI, API, backend).  (You should be comfortable integrating automation tests within CI/CD pipelines and be familiar with non-functional requirements such as performance and load testing.) 
  • Practice continuous integration embrace open-source software and make informed technology and product decisions. (We are an Agile development shop and regularly demo our work to project stakeholders.) 
  • Work with strong SDETs using latesttool and technologies to automate testing and provide quality of product to our customers. (Team members are empowered to champion new tools that provides richer functionalities or cuts down test development time.) 

  Who You Are - some of the essential things required to be successful in the role 

  • At least two years’ experience of participating in software testing activities including test planning, execution, monitoring, defect tracking, and test reporting 
  • Your experience should include; 
  • Python, C# or Javascript/Typescript and design principles on creating and maintaining automation frameworks 

  - XML, XSLT and web services  

  - Git or other distributed version control systems 

   

  You should also be proficient in SQL and relational database concepts 

   

  Who You Are – it’s desirable if you have any of the following 

  • Experience of Microservice architectures   
  • Exposure to Cloud Platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP) 
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing and CQRS patterns 
  • Experience with Cypress or Selenium 
  • Experience with JAWS or NVDA 
  • Experience with automated testing tools and reports  
  • Experience with manual testing using a range of assistive technology    
  • Experience with Parallel Testing 
  • Experience with Behavioural Driven Development (BDD) 
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
