Solutions Engineer - Apex

  We are looking for a Lead Solutions Engineer to join us in our Belfast Centre of Excellence as part of our Apex FinTech Solutions team. Solutions Engineering facilitates the integration and rollout of a correspondent firms UI and product to the general public.  We are tasked with assisting in the integration and providing guidance on when and how certain API endpoints are interacted with.  We help provide a correspondent firm additional insight into the clearing/trading world and how their end client interactions translate to the correspondent/Apex interactions.  Within this role, you may be tasked with providing assistance to customer code and customer UI design.  Solutions Engineering works as a collective team assisting each other, onboarding, and clients respectively.  Our primary goal is assisting clients to bring their client interface vision to life.

  You’ll be responsible for:

  • Demonstrate and design compelling solutions with our customers. 
  • Have (or acquire) deep expertise in the technology that powers banking and brokerage. 
  • Have experience with cutting edge, new technologies, built by Apex and our partners. 
  • Engage in the post-sales process and remain engaged.
  • Discuss detailed architecture, design complex solutions, and guide customers to successful infrastructure operations.
  • Are the technical “voice of the customer” within Apex. Ability to work in cooperation with the broader Apex Engineering and Product teams documenting and verbalizing customer requirements.
  • Are the technical "voice of Apex" in the field. Present technical concepts to technical and c-suite audiences.

  You’ll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

  • Proven experience in at least one modern language (Java, Python, C#, C++, Go, etc.).
  • Strong background with REST APIs.
  • SQL experience
  • Applicants must have the permanent right to live and work in the UK - this job is based from our Belfast Office

  Desirable:

  • Familiarity with monitoring/CiCD/DevOps is a plus.
  • Ability to learn new technologies (languages, tools, frameworks) quickly.
  • NoSQL / MongoDB Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform / Amazon Web Services is a strong plus.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Financial Services industry experience
