  Who we are looking for

  We're searching for a talented, experienced Product Design Manager with a passion for SAAS products and a product-design mindset. As a servant leader, you'll manage a team of highly skilled product designers. Your team's core responsibility is to develop strategic, high-impact designs for our products and services. You'll work closely with global product managers, technical writers and researchers, product marketers, developers, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will develop deep domain knowledge of our solutions and be able to solve complex problems, delivering value to the millions of people that we serve every day.

   

  What you will do

  • Manage and mentor team of product designers located in Belfast, Ireland.
  • Serve as a Product Design Leader and member of Belfast Leadership and a representative for Belfast Product Design in the Global Product Leadership Team.
  • Work closely with the Global Product Design Director on ways to elevate the product design discipline and support the global members of the team. 
  • Work with your Product Design team in Belfast to deliver creative and innovative design solutions to challenging problems across all products supported in the region.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive excellence in the overall experience of new features and products from conception and planning through launch and beyond.
  • Ensure that your Product Design team works closely with Technical Writers on design solutions for mockups and interactive prototypes
  • Review designs created by your team to ensure experiences are clear, easy to use, consistent, on brand, accessible and promote user adoption and delight with our products.
  • Think at a high level about product design strategy and vision, taking into consideration best practices, design thinking, new and current approaches for design, localization needs, and how best to meet the goals of the business.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and provide insights and ideas as to how we can elevate our products to remain industry leaders

  • Strong communication skills to help people across the company understand the rationale behind your proposals, the complex nuances of strong product design, and the value of technical writing as a discipline.
  • Balanced sense of optimism and humility.
  • Clear understanding of the value of technical and UX writing
  • Knowledge of WCAG standards and how to ensure those standards are adhered to in all product design

  
  

  Basic Qualifications

  • Passion for managing teams
  • Five or more years of Product Design or User Experience
  • Discerning eye for information architecture, user flows, design affordances, style conformity and consistency
  • Adept at having difficult conversations and resolving conflicts
  • Weighs options thoughtfully before making decisions
  • Works well with a global team of peers and stakeholders

  Desirable

  • Experience with current best practices for product design and user experience, and user research
  • Experience with structured authoring
  • Experience writing for user research sessions
  • Experience creating video content
  • Experience with ADA compliance (WCAG standards for accessibility)
  • Passion for coaching and mentorship
  • Passion for process improvement
  • Follows current trends in Product Design and related fields
