BI Analytics Developer

  • This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Technology & Digital Development team as a BI Analytics Developer.

    We are looking for an outstanding problem solver who is inquisitive and excellent with technology. You’ll be executing data analytics projects that are varied in nature and demand a wide spectrum of skills from data manipulation through to data visualisation. You’ll need to love working with data and to be detail orientated and methodical. Whilst existing knowledge of numerous analytical tools is not a prerequisite, self-motivation to learn and an ambition to become an expert in applying such technologies is essential.

    You’ll be required to work closely with various Business functions as well as other teams in Danske Bank. You’ll focus on working with our internal customers – supporting them in creating insights, analytics and a self-service culture. You’ll need to have a background working with data and be a strong independent problem solver capable of working through complex undocumented data structures.

    To provide subject matter expertise and knowledge of the data sets held within our bank.  You’ll work closely with our data governance team to support documentation of our data, and information: supporting understanding of data within the business and analytics teams.

     

     What you’ll do

    As a BI Analytics Developer you’ll:

    • Gather and visualise user requirements by supporting their journey to self-service and data driven decisions
    • Contribute to the creation of new technical solutions to innovate, increase efficiencies and make the Bank’s data actionable
    • Work in partnership with the wider Danske Bank business functions to ensure a purposeful single source of the truth that is available to all
    • Building scalable solutions
    • Support data engineers to maintain data pipelines
    • Automating manual processes
    • Take a lead in complex business challenges and mentor other team members
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis for internal or external users as required.
    • To ensure customers are provided with advice and service compliant with all existing legal, regulatory and voluntary code obligations, and all Bank standards, policies, processes and procedures
    • Ensure all BI activities are aligned to the Bank’s core values and consistent with the fair treatment of all customers.

     What skills / qualifications will you need?

    Essential

    • 3+ years hands on experience as an analytics developer.  A proven track record at gathering and implementing user requirements through dashboard and analytical tools
    • A strong understanding of at least 1 BI analytical applications (Qlikview/QlikSense Tableau, SSRS etc.)
    • Proven ability to work closely with all levels of business to gather accurate business and technical requirements, then translate into new BI solutions
    • Good planning and organising skills with ability to work to tight deadlines.
    • Strong service delivery ethic with a focus on quality, competency and accuracy.
    • Strong communicator who is able to translate and adapt message for different stakeholder groups including technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to think logically, a high level of numeracy and the ability to interpret data.
    • Well organised, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

     Preferred

    • 3rd Level degree in IT or related STEM discipline
    • Experience in design, development and deployment of data warehouses or relational/analytical/multi-dimensional data marts
    • Experience with Alteryx
    • Experience with IBM DataStage
    • Good working knowledge of Python
    • Experience SSRS
    • Experience with Hadoop and Spark

     

    Salary & Benefits

    • Annual salary starting between £28,819 - £45,025 depending on experience.
    • 37 days’ leave per year (27 days’ annual leave plus 10 paid bank holidays).
    • Company pension contribution – we will contribute up to 10% of your salary.

    • This is a full time role at 35 hours per week.
