    Company Description

    Job Description

    Job Description

This role is for an Operations Coordinator / Analyst to join the UK Digital, Data, and Cloud Practice within Version 1, reporting to the Practice Operations Manager.

Operations is a hugely diverse career path in Version 1, and it boils down to doing whatever is needed to ensure the smooth operation of our business. On any given day, in broad terms:

You'll use data to fuel continuous improvements via weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and constant data analysis. This will involve linking in with people across all areas of Version 1's business, to ensure they're providing accurate data so we can stay aligned to best practices and make the best possible data-driven decisions.

You'll proactively spot discrepancies or issues and try to adapt existing processes to ensure they don’t happen again. If there’s no process, with support from the team and the wider Version 1 business, you’ll learn to build one, document it, and roll it out to stakeholders and users.

However - while you'll need to "like a good bit of process" in this role, over time you'll also come to have a deep understanding of the realities of Version 1’s business and to make judgement calls on when the process needs to adapt to people, and when the people need to adapt to the process. (Like with data security - no messing there!)

You'll learn all about large-scale IT project mobilisations, allocating staff across conflicting customer and project demands, and how to coordinate project roll-offs as well. You'll work closely with both our technical teams and with the centralised Workforce Management team around internal rotations and external hiring. You'll also learn more than you ever thought you needed to know about the various types of UK security clearance.

You'll primarily be working as part of a small Practice Operations team with shared goals and tons of support, but over time you'll also develop your own projects that will have an immediate and positive impact on our business and people.

At a more detailed level, responsibilities will include things such as:

    • You will work closely with Finance, Practice Heads, and Portfolio Directors to ensure that monthly forecasts are in place and accurately managed.
    • You'll closely monitor weekly chargeability to ensure the right people are working on the right projects at the right times, maximizing efficiency and employee satisfaction, and minimizing financial risk.
    • Administration and analyst tasks around Practice reporting and data cleanliness/accuracy
    • Monitoring team allocations via our Resource Management System, KimbleApps.
    • Managing contract end dates or extensions, team movers, line management changes, and customer onboarding.
    • Presenting new processes to staff and managers, and providing training where
    • Planning engagement activities and events, both remote and F2F, such as puzzle-based casino heists, online interactive pasta making classes, or drag-bingo.
    • And so much more!

    Qualifications

You'll do well in our team if:

    • You will have experience in a similar role but not exclusive to Operations, PMO, Administration, HR, Workforce/Resource Management, Level 2 IT Support, or as a Data Analyst.
    • You're a problem solver by nature with great accuracy and attention to detail
    • You're also collaborative - you know who the right people are and how to work with them successfully to get issues resolved or achieve great things!
    • You have an analyst or researcher's mindset with experience of Excel. You enjoy working with data (or at least don't mind it) and will go off to research things you don't understand.
    • You have strong communication skills - both verbal and written
    • You're not afraid of writing process documentation, and you have no problem taking a bullet point list and turning it into a polished Powerpoint deck in return.
