FAAS - FP&T - Data & Technology Senior

  • The opportunity
    Digital disruption is having a significant impact on the Finance function of our clients, and the environment they operate in, leading to a sharp growth in the number of data and analytics projects being delivered through FAAS (Financial Accounting and Advisory Services). 


    To fulfil this client demand we are continuing to grow our data & technology focussed team, which is the engine of our analytics capability. The scope of the roles we have available is broad, and so you will need to have a good understanding of data, tell a compelling story, and quickly pick up new skills.

     

    Your key responsibilities
    As a Senior Consultant in the FAAS team you will:

    • Work as part of a team (physical and virtual) to deliver analytics-led projects. 
    • Take ownership of deliverables, delegating to junior team members when possible and appropriate
    • Help develop proposals and propositions to take to the market
    • Proactively contribute toward the development of the analytics community within FAAS; developing a personal network throughout the Assurance service line 

     

    Skills and attributes for success

    • Strong independent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical persons
    • Experience of developing and delivering PowerPoint presentations
    • Knowledge of statistical techniques and analysis (such as regression, clustering, sampling,)
    • Experience with business finance and broader (external and internal) audit function concepts (such as risk assessment and scoping, controls etc)
    • Willingness to travel to client sites in the UK and Europe when required
       

    To qualify for the role, you must have

    • At least a 2:1 degree in a STEM or finance-related subject
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in data and analytics
    • Experience with industry-standard data and analytics applications and tools such as PowerBI (highly desirable), Microsoft Power platform / PowerApps (highly desirable), Tableau, Alteryx (highly desirable), Spotfire, SQL, and Excel
    • Experience of data extraction, analysis, cleansing, quality and manipulation skills
    • An understanding of the major finance processes (e.g. procure to pay)
    • An understanding of risk and control environment (e.g. testing of control design and operational effectiveness, RACM etc) and how analytics can be applied in that context 
       

    Ideally, you’ll also have

    • The ability to tell a story through analytics
    • An interest in emerging technologies, such as blockchain, AI and RPA
    • Professional services background (consulting, risk and/or assurance)
