Senior Automation Engineer (hybrid)

    Your role in the team

     

    Allstate Business Insurance (ABI) have rolled out a new platform to support our Transformative Growth plans. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growth area that will help to expand your skill base and give you the opportunity to grow and develop in a new platform.

     

    Your role, through a combination of technical knowledge and owning testing, will be to ensure quality is built into the billing application in the new product. You will be provided training in the new platform courtesy of the Duck Creek University Virtual training program.

     

    There will also be an opportunity to work on ABI’s current Policy Admin system which is a Vended application which therefore offers a different perspective on Insurance products within Allstate and will offer exposure to different vendors and multiple DCIO’s.

     

    ABI require an enthusiastic Test Engineer to join our testing group to lead our automation efforts, driving efficiency, quality and mentoring the other Test Engineers on the team with best practices.

     

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

     

    Automation

    • Lead a global team of Test Engineers to provide guidance on automation best practices
    • Analyze current test beds and implement improves where necessary
    • Mentor other team members to ensure automation is introduced to testing where possible

     

    Agile Team

    • Work with development and business teams on a daily basis
    • Participate in Scrum Daily Stand-up, Sprint and iterative development activities
    • Participate in Sprint planning, release planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives

     

     Test Planning

    • Provide input to and create the Test Strategy Plan and Test Approach;
    • Identification of Test Data and Environment needs;
    • Test case creation;
    • Test activity scheduling;

     

    Execution

    • Perform Functional and regression testing activities
    • Test case and data validation to ensure requirements and quality standards have been met;
    • Responsible for Defect identification, documentation, communication and following through to resolution.

     

    SME Support

    • Mentoring within team;
    • Training - planning and delivery;

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a software development environment as a QA/Test Engineer
    • Experience leading and coordinating projects
    • Experience coding scripts within Automation tools such as Selenium

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Test Lead experience
    • Experience leading or involvement in devising a test automation strategy
