    Your role in the team

     

    The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE’s major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. RTE’s communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

     

    • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities through information radiators
    • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
    • Design, launch and support Release Trains. Facilitate the PI planning events, including establishing and communicating calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)                
    • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program Level with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics
    • Help manage risks and dependencies, escalate and track impediments, provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
    • Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
    • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve
    • Understands the core Allstate Product Offerings and business domain
    • Stakeholder identification and management
    • Regular contributor and facilitator to the RTE Community of Practice

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • A minimum of 5 years’ IT experience; and
    • Requires 2yrs of proven success working as a Scrum Master
    • 1yr experience facilitating cross team collaboration events like Scrum of Scrums
    • Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework
    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Prior experience working as an RTE
    • Experience of large group facilitation
    • One or more SAFe Certifications
