    Your role in the team

     

     

    As a Scrum Master within the Project Management Office, you will work closely with the Product Owner, developers, testers and all relevant stakeholders ensuring adherence to Allstate agile principles and engineering practices while contextualizing and optimizing delivery using agile/Scrum methods.

     

    In the role of Scrum Master, you will collaborate team(s) to ensure they are fully aware of the strategic context of their work (driven by the Product Owner), have clarity on the relevant strategic goals and broader program plans, and developing an innovative, creative environment to give the team space to focus on delivering.

     

    You will be part of a multi-disciplined team of developers, business analysts, product owners, synchronizing and collaborating with other scrum-masters and project managers across global locations

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but not limited to)

     

     

    • Promoting Scrum/Agile Practices
    • Promote Scrum and Agile values, principles and practices
    • Coach and mentor multiple teams to achieve higher level of maturity on Agile/Scrum as required
    • Continuous benchmarking with industry best practice

     

     

    Organisation/Planning

     

     

    • Support multiple teams to ensure they can deliver what is requested – remove impediments which may hinder the success of the team (servant leadership)
    • Facilitate team meetings (retrospectives, reviews, refinement & Sprint planning) and attend integration meetings (Scrum of Scrum and where applicable Program Increment planning)
    • Ensure Stories and Sprints adhere to standards and quality measures
    • Identify warning signs and act with a sense of urgency to resolve
    • Provide decisive responses to challenges and issues
    • Provide transparent planning, control and reporting through most suitable tooling (VersionOne, Scrum boards, burndowns, information radiators)

     

     

     

    Stakeholder Management

     

     

    • Build and maintain strong relationship with team, product owners, product manager(s) & delivery stakeholders
    • Develop a safe and open environment to instill confidence and trust within the team
    • Encourage involvement and commitment from all to help build an effective dynamic team
    • Provide guidance and support to resolve conflicts

     

     

     

    Hours of work

     

    • Standard hours Mon – Fri;
    • Flexibility to meet business needs as required;
    • Full time only.

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • At least 4 years demonstrable IT project management experience; and
    • Demonstrated track record in delivering multiple complex projects, simultaneously, with a strong focus on execution; and
    • Excellent written/oral communication and facilitation skills for communicating at all levels; including strong presentation skills; and
    • Experience of creating sustained change, developing movement in team practices and maintaining momentum to keep up improvement as a culture in a diverse team; and
    • Experience and passion for coaching, mentoring and improvement of teams in agile/Scrum methodologies; and
    • Has deep understanding of the PO Role, Story Writing and their responsibilities and can coach PO on best practice

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience of agile delivery / project management tools, preferably Version 1/Agility, Confluence, MS Project,
    • Experience of delivering projects in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)
    • Experience of delivering projects in a multi-method eco-system
    • Experience of delivering multi-shore, multi-method projects
    • Relevant project management / delivery certifications e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, PSM/CSM, Scaled Agile SA/SP/SASM, SAFe Scaled Agile certifications eg, SA, SP, SPC
