  The team

   

  The Client Virtualization Team is a technical engineering team primarily leveraging Citrix and VMware Horizon based technologies. The team is responsible for maintaining over 1200 production servers across multiple data centers and in Azure cloud, as well as providing engineering support for major enterprise initiatives.

   

   

  Your role in the team

   

  The Client Virtualization Team is responsible for installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining Citrix server/client and VMware technologies. Enterprise roll-out (application conversions, including planning, execution, and follow-up processes). Project planning (working within a project plan and collaborating with project managers).  Design, documenting, configuring, deploying of new client virtualization technology offerings, as well as operational readiness for the entire technology stack.

   

   

  Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

   

  • Manage multiple Citrix silos.
  • Test and execute changes: The Citrix silos require many updates that are done during the evenings and on weekends. Publish new apps in Citrix silos, test in lower environments before putting them in production.
  • Change validation: On the night of changes, in addition to validating that the software installed correctly, validation testing required.
  • Handle Incident tickets: With Citrix silos, resolve incident tickets, consultation requests, emails, and Teams messages related to 8 managed Citrix silos.
  • Work silo fulfillment requests.
  • Users on-boarding/off-boarding to the various security groups used in Citrix silos.
  • Attend weekly the Vulnerability Management meetings and remediate vulnerabilities on supported ERD silos.
  • Validation the Citrix servers for Security and the Windows Patching.
  • Virtual Desktop fulfillment that comes in via Service Catalog requests.
  • Work on incident tickets and consultation requests for Virtual Desktop that come to team’s queue.
  • Respond to questions via email and Teams about Virtual Desktop and Citrix environments, how it works, the use case, etc.…
  • Maintaining Virtual Desktop forecasts.
  • Handle any large Virtual Desktop special requests that come in through channels other than Service Catalog, which are usually done manually. Example: onboard over 150 Claims CAT users at once. Be the first person contacted when these users run into problems setting up DVD.
  • Maintain a list of virtual Desktop users, whether through Service Catalog form or manually.
  • Maintain monthly lists of all users manually onboarded / offboarded.
  • Work with ServiceNow consultants to manage and maintain user lists in virtual desktops
  • Define and update virtual Desktop / Citrix silo documentation
  • Work on incident tickets and consultation requests for Remote PC users that come to the team queue.

   

   

  So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

   

  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an infrastructure role including 1+ years’ experience managing virtual environments, preferably with Citrix or VMware Horizon or similar virtualization technologies
  • Working knowledge of Virtual Desktop infrastructure (VDI)

  • Knowledge of NetScaler
  • Knowledge of Citrix Web Interface
  • Citrix Endpoint technologies
