    Your role in the team

                         

    We are excited to announce 2 new Scrum Master roles opening within Allstate Business Insurance (ABI) at Allstate Northern Ireland to join our rapidly expanding team.

     

    The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on the new ABI Transformative Growth product Project Midway & our new major Migration of our book of business over to a brand-new platform.

     

    ABI has created a new auto product to focus on small businesses with less than five vehicles by creating a new and modern user experience for customers and agents on a new platform using Duck Creek Technologies to allow customers and agents to quote, bind and service in a simple yet engaging way.

     

    As Scrum Master, you will work with the Product team to ensure continuous delivery of working software that provides the highest value for the business.  You will provide effective collaboration, leadership, coaching and facilitation while working hands on with the Scrum Team to keep the iteration delivery on-time and with the expected functionality.  You will be responsible for encouraging adherence to the rules of Scrum, removing impediments from the team while promoting self-management and constantly improving our standards of work.

     

    • Accountable, alongside the scrum team, for achieving release objectives.
    • Removing impediments to the team's progress to its sprint commitments.
    • Ensuring team alignment with agile scrum practices and norms while managing performance of the scrum team through joint accountability.
    • Supporting and crystallizing the team to create clear and concise Backlog items.
    • Setting team goals, facilitating team discussions, resolving conflicts and achieving collective decision-making.
    • Establishing release management oversight. You will work across teams to plan feature releases that are well-timed and executed.
    • Collaborating and partner within and beyond one's team; builds productive relationships with other teams.
    • Engaging team problem-solving through evaluation of options and selecting solutions.
    • Managing risks to delivery and external dependencies; escalating issues through to the Platform Owner & Product Owner where necessary.
    • Accountable for Scrum Teams effectiveness
    • Facilitate team meetings (retrospectives, reviews, refinement & Sprint planning) and attend integration meetings (Scrum of Scrum and where applicable Program Increment planning)
    • Coaching the team members in self-management and cross-functionality;
    • Helping the Scrum Team focus on creating high-value Increments that meet the Definition of Done,
    • Ensuring that all Scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a technical role
    • A minimum of 1+ years Scrum Master experience
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and coach teams towards high performance in an Agile environment
    • Deep knowledge of Agile principles, methodologies, reporting tools and techniques and the flexibility to adapt previous experience to new and evolving environments
    • Great interpersonal skills working in a team environment

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Scrum Master certification; PMI - Agile Certified Practitioner
    • Prior experience in software development.
    • Experience with Agile concepts such as User Experience and Design Thinking.
    • Experience in working with Software Vendors & Releases.
