    Your role in the team

     

    Allstate Northern Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Allstate Corporation employing over 2,000 people in Belfast, Northland (Derry) and Strabane, providing support to the largest publicly held insurance company in the US.
     

     

    In 2018 Allstate NI commenced their engagement with Investments Technology department. Now Investments Technology wishes to add to their Allstate NI footprint with the addition of Band C Consultant for the Private Market Application. The key skills for the role will be Informatica, SQL, Unix with CICD pipeline experience.

    We are looking for a Software Developer to join our team. As a software developer you will be involved in coding, customization, configuration, testing, and deployment in support of enterprise packaged solutions.
     

     

     

    • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to Informatica, Unix, Oracle, SQL Server,  SSIS 
    • Designs ETL Processes using Informatica tool to extract data from heterogeneous sources and transforms data using complex logic as per business needs
    • Resolve day to day issue raised by Business on any applications.
    • Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement
    • Manage defect tracking system and resolve all issues and prepare update for systems.
    • Manage documentation for requirements and design
    • Create technical specifications and test cases
    • Monitor everyday activities of system and provide require support.

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with programming experience
    • 4+ years of design and/or development experience with Informatica, UNIX
    • Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains, and tests software applications (primarily through Informatica workflows and objects) 
    • Strong background in object-oriented development techniques
    • Database design and development Microsoft SQL Server & Oracle
    • Experience with concurrent development source control (Git) and continuous integration pipeline (CICD) (Jenkins)  

     

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.
    • Working Knowledge of object-oriented concepts will be a plus 
    • Passion for technology and knowledge and interest to learn new technologies
    • Experience in tool automation (Artifactory, SonarQube, Octopus Deploy) 
    • Collaborate and communicate well with others, strong written and verbal communication, comfortable with varying (and reactive) daily responsibilities
