    Your role in the team

     

    This is an opportunity for passionate technologists to join a flat structured, diverse team of Java engineers and work on the execution of Allstate’s Transformative Growth Strategy.   Enterprise Billing is a critical function at the heart of Allstate’s future; this is a fantastic opportunity join a team at the forefront of engineering in Allstate, gain valuable domain knowledge and deliver strategic capabilities as part of the wider Transformative Growth strategy.

     

    The successful candidate(s) will be able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment to drive the design & implementation of independent, reusable services.  They will also be able to coach other team members, fostering an open and agile culture, supporting the growth of individuals and the team as a whole.  They will promote engineering excellence, adherence to target state architecture, security, data, privacy, and other applicable standards.  Constructive input from all members of the development team is something we value highly.

     

    The role offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to Allstate’s software landscape having a direct impact on exposing the “Good Hands” to our premium paying customers.

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • At least 3 years industry experience with an Object Oriented development environment
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and test-driven development
    • Be able to demonstrate a passion for learning and learning agility; and
    • Excellent communications skills

    • Excellent Java coding background including familiarity with tools such as:
      • Java
      • Spring Framework
      • Kafka
      • Github
      • AppFabric
      • Jenkins Pipeline
      • Database
