    Your role in the team

    As a Data Platform Engineer, you will leverage data intensive technologies to store and process large volumes of data in support of research analytics and real-time analytic platforms.  You will also advise clients on best practice and correct use of technology, and drive proof of concept initiatives to continually improve our platforms and capabilities.  

     

    • Responsible for performance tuning and scalability improvements of distributed applications
    • Researching and evaluation of new tools and technologies to solve business problems
    • Responsible for designing and building platforms for analyzing data into actionable insights
    • Translate business concepts into technical implementations
    • Work on a geographically dispersed team embracing Agile and DevOps
    • Participate in strategic planning discussions with technical and non-technical partners
    • Effective and efficient utilization of Data Engineering tools and techniques
    • Provide expert advice to our clients.
    • Production support.
    • Mentors others and continually develops themselves.

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Must have 2+ years’ Industry experience in a data related platform technology role (databases, Kafka, Hadoop, etc.)
    • 1+ Year of experience in a Data Engineering role

     

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Database or Platform Administration.
    • Successful completion of the ANI Data Engineer training program
    • NoSQL databases (E.g. Mongo, HBase, Cassandra).
    • Hadoop and associated technologies (e.g. Sqoop, Hive / Impala, Spark).
    • Kafka and streaming technologies (E.g. Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, Apache Flink).
    • Ability to develop REST services.
    • PCF / Kubernetes / Docker.
    • 1+ Year of experience in a role leveraging SQL
    • DevOps Techniques and associated technologies (e.g. Ansible, Python, Shell, Powershell).
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Open to new ideas and technologies with a strong desire to learn.
    • Ability to analyze and solve problems in a creative and innovative fashion.
    • Ability to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
