Group Product Owner

  • Responsibilities - Group Product Owner

      • Serving as the lead product owner for the technologies that drive our network strategy.
      • Working with the portfolio product manager to understand the long-term roadmap and vision for the portfolio, in order to prioritize and own the short-term roadmap. Reinforcing that vision and strategy with the Development team as needed to understand the importance of their work.
      • Communicating across teams to ensure consistent backlog alignment on prioritized business goals.
      • Interpreting high level business and product requirements and creating feature
      • requirements, user stories and relevant product backlog items.
      • Writing system requirement specifications in user stories, using the higher-level product management requirements as a guide.
      • Conducting analysis work to understand and fine-tune user and system requirements
      • Prioritizing the work/backlog to satisfy delivery milestones and deliver client value.
      • Ensuring that all engineering teams within your purview have everything they need to size, accept and execute on work.
      • Assisting in preparing engineering demos.
      • Actively participating in engineering planning and demo meetings.
      • Collaborating with engineering leaders to organize review meetings.
      • Serving as a liaison with management, engineering, and stakeholders to provide regular updates on product development and operations.
      • Collaborate with the product manager on building the product vision and roadmap.
      • Serve as an advocate for your technology in discussions with clients.
      • Work with the technical service teams and product knowledge team to build internal training and documentation.
      • Collaboratively define the ‘Definition of Done’ and ‘Ready’ criteria.
      • Being the connective tissue between the product managers and the various engineering teams that work on the “How” of the business objectives.

    Requirements

      • 5-7 years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager
      • Prior development experience a plus. Will need adequate understanding of technology
      • being used to help identify acceptance criteria.
      • Prior experience working with large data sets/ big data a plus
      • Undergraduate degree in related field
      • Experience in Lean Product Management and agile development methodologies
      • Proven track record of delivering value added software products and features
      • Evidential experience working effectively in a cross-functional global environment
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills to articulate insights
      • Demonstrated experience at meeting facilitation
      • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence
      • Demonstrated experience at successfully managing multiple projects and deliverables
      • Comfortable prioritizing work and meeting deadlines
      • Comfortable organizing and meeting with clients to gather and document requirements
      • Willing to travel 10-25%
      • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
