EY Belfast Technology Risk Graduate Programme

  •

Enter a bigger world of tech. Think data first. Develop projects that have incredible impact.

Bring your passion for problem solving and analysing information and help to ensure our clients IT systems are safe, secure and fit for purpose.

What is Technology Risk at EY Northern Ireland?

Technology is at the heart of most modern organisations. As well as opening a world of opportunities, technology exposes organisations to a variety of risks.

Our Technology Risk teams combine digital know-how with advanced tech to help clients understand and transform their businesses. Our high-performing teams are diverse, inclusive and borderless. Our experience helps clients grow, manage, protect and, when necessary, transform their businesses. Together, we shape entire industries by applying the right technological solutions to real world problems. Your diversity of thought will only strengthen our work within this incredibly varied business area.

    What will you be doing?

Working in Technology Risk means you'll sit within our Consulting business area, working with our teams here and building relationships with a variety of clients to audit their IT systems and applications.

    You can expect to:

    • Gain a broad understanding of the IT landscape of some of our biggest clients, including their approach to cybersecurity, data protection, resiliency and software asset management.
    • Understand the risks associated with emerging technologies, including cloud adoption, the use of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation
    • Analysing data, communication with clients and presenting your work
    • Assessing complex projects to spot risks and make recommendations
    • Get involved with industry research and client thought leadership

    How is it structured?

After an EY induction, you’ll join your team in UK & Ireland and start working on real client projects. While you’re getting to know more about them and their business needs, you’ll start learning about the technology we use to test controls and analyse data.

Along the way you’ll shadow senior colleagues and you could even go on secondments, supported by your own personal counsellor who’ll help guide your growth. This kind of exposure, together with working towards your qualifications, will open up many more opportunities within EY and beyond.

You may also start studying for relevant professional qualifications, which may include IT audit or accounting. It’s a lot of learning but you’ll have plenty of support from your team, mentors and a career coach too. Before you know it, you’ll achieve your qualifications, be creating reports and presenting your findings to clients and by the end of the programme, be ready to lead your own teams and projects.

Do you have the eye for detail needed to work in Technology Risk? The patience to find your feet and explore your interests? The passion to take our purpose of building a better working world and run with it? Welcome to a place where you’re truly welcome – to share your voice, ideas, inspirations and beliefs. This is your chance to define who you want to be while building experience you can be proud of.

    Entry requirements

You’ll need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language & Maths, three A-levels, 5 Highers or equivalent, and a STEM, computer science or accounting  related honours degree by the time the programme starts.
