    Allstate operate a very flexible hybrid working model with a blend of remote and office working for NI based employees.  Employees based in GB will be employed on a permanent remote working contract.

    The Lead Automation Engineer role is part of the Arity Product Performance team.  This role will drive and support critical strategic design and technical leadership of progressive, fully autonomous testing solutions utilizing machine learning where appropriate across our Arity Product suite. Utilizing agile methodologies and extensive cloud technologies Arity is in the process of rolling out our new Platform and we now need a strong time proven technical lead to play a key role in our Arity team.

     

    The Lead Automation Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the strategy and design for the continuous delivery framework and tools and as such will act as a subject matter expert on CI/CD pipelines. They need to analyse the long-term impact of any new strategies and contribute to the overall Arity strategy. Contributing to the technology strategy and engineering roadmaps around our cloud and non-cloud platforms, whilst initiating and implementing continuous improvements in all areas of engineering responsibility. Anticipating issues and developing preventative measures is another key responsibility.

     

    The Lead Automation Engineer needs to manage workloads in an Agile development environment coupled with coaching of more junior team members in Agile principles and practices. Engaging appropriate stakeholders in risk identification and mitigation Designs, whilst developing and overseeing strategic technical direction for highly integrated, autonomous test solutions.

     

     

    The person

     

    This role is ideal for someone who has a real passion for technology and are advocates of software engineering best practices and continuous improvement and enjoys keeping up to date in industry trends and best practice.

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical lead role ideally within an agile environment;
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development in a technology
    • Working knowledge of scripting languages e.g. JavaScript, Python, JACL, Node.js, Bash and
    • Experience with CI/CD tools
    • Experienced in collaborating with others and deliver innovated solutions

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience with delivering using Agile methodology practices
    • Experience of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
    • Experience with API gateways such as APIGEE and Akamai
    • Knowledge of application security
    • Experience in mobile application development and publishing – IOS or Android
