    Your role in the team

    This position will be responsible for leading all editing and proofreading initiatives for the team.  This includes but not limited to written communications including marketing campaigns, email initiatives, weekly blog content, digital marketing banners, presentations, press releases, and/or social media messaging created by the Allstate Creative and Advertising organization. 
     

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • Proofread and edit written materials by reviewing copy to detect errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, syntax, and verifying facts and data

    • Ensure brand voice and tone guidelines are applied and consistent across all touch points

    • Ensure the right words and content appear at the right time in the user experience, accounting for demographics, personas, and other factors

    • Review copy and layouts, fact-checking where warranted

    • Be the last line of defence in checking quality of our brand materials. 

    • The successful candidate will lead critical projects and could lead teams as the function grows

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK

    • A third level qualification in English, communications, marketing, or related field 

    • 3+ years in the field of  Copy Editing or Proofreading 

    • 3+ years in the field of Marketing and/or Media Production 

    • Familiar with proofreading layouts for spacing, typography, widows, margins, line wraps and formatting

    • Excellent eye for detail, eg accuracy of proper naming, legal footnotes, trademarks, etc

    • Excellent knowledge of English language 

    • Outstanding writing, spelling, punctuation, language and grammar skills

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria:

     

    • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and delegate a heavy workload with conflicting demands, tight turnarounds, frequent process and workflow changes, and challenging deadlines. 

    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to diplomatically resolving conflicts involving workflow, assignments, and conflicts with other teams. 

    • Solid team player with excellent communication skills. 

    • Must be comfortable using a variety of publishing software and adapt readily to changes in technology
