Cyber Security Analyst

  • We are seeking to recruit a number of Cyber Security Analysts within the Information Services Directorate at Queen’s University Belfast. We are investing significantly in Digital Transformation within the University so these newly created posts would suit candidates who want to be involved in this exciting period of change. It will offer the ability to contribute to the development of the Cyber Security Systems and policies used by the University. 

    You will identify, deploy, configure, manage and monitor Cyber Security Systems, working closely with the Cyber Security Team and other technical staff to identify, report and resolve security issues and incidents. You will assist with Security Audits, Security Monitoring, Vulnerability Scans and Penetration Testing of University IT Systems and Infrastructure, reporting on findings and assisting with resolutions.

    You will be working in an agile environment, cooperating and collaborating with IT teams across Information Services and the wider University. You will be afforded a level of autonomy when established but there will be a support network to help you progress.

    The successful candidate must have: 

    • Degree or higher degree or equivalent in Computer Science Cyber security or other related discipline

    OR

    • Degree or higher degree in any discipline combined with 5 years relevant professional experience in an IT Admin or Cyber Security role.

    OR

    • HND or equivalent in Computer Science or other related discipline combined with 5 years relevant professional experience in IT Admin or Cyber Security role.

    • Three years recent relevant professional experience in IT Admin or Cyber Security role. As outlined above, applicants without a degree-level qualification in Computer Science etc. must have five years relevant professional experience.

    • Willingness to undertake support, installation and development work outside of ‘normal’ working hours, possibly on a rota/shift basis.

    Salary: £33,797 - £40,322 per annum
