    Your role in the team

    Flight continuously improves software quality for Allstate and is our identity for testing and release management.

    We are transferring from project to product focus, proprietary systems to open platforms and from complex to fast, agile and low unit cost.

    This position is for a Test Manager for our new generation platform for insurance product management.

    You will lead a global team of Test Engineers to deliver software products in a fast paced, multi-methodology technology organization.

    Our new platform is being built from the ground up and you will be pivotal in ensuring that modern Agile practices with a strong product mindset are used throughout. 

     

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    • Work within a SAFe methodology and be an advocate for Flight in those methodologies to deliver software testing services to meet project/product objectives
    • Lead, manage and develop global organization team members across all locations
    • Manage work intake and ensure available capacity to deliver testing services
    • Ensure team utilization of industry test techniques, tools, and methodology to provide ‘Best in Class’ testing services (e.g. automation opportunities)
    • Establish best practices and identify process improvements for optimal agile testing practices and automation implementation
    • Create an environment to continuously build domain expertise across the organization to achieve quality goals and resource portability
    • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively with staff and leaders at all levels

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

    • All candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a hands-on technical role within an IT development and/or test team
    • 1+ years’ people or technical leadership or equivalent experience leading a team
    • Experienced with test management, automation and CI/CD concepts and tools, e.g. Selenium, Java, Automation frameworks, VersionOne, Jenkins, GitHub
    • Demonstrable experience of Agile processes
    • Experienced in utilizing industry best practices for software testing, experience in Waterfall and Agile methodologies, dedicated to increasing automation capabilities for project/product deliveries 

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

    • Demonstrable experience in establishing and implementing BDD testing processes
    • Demonstrable experience in Cucumber
    • Demonstrable understanding of maturity models
    • Understanding of organisational politics and how best to navigate them
