Project Manager-Cyber Security

  • The Role

    We are looking for a self-motivated Project Manager who is keen to make an impact at a Fortune 500 company. As the first project manager for Aflac NI Security, you will play a key role in shaping one of our Teams in Belfast. This is an exciting role that will deliver projects for both the Aflac NI Security Team and the Global Security Program.

    The role will be responsible for project managing the successful delivery of selected Cyber Security projects and work packages to provide solutions that meet the organisation's needs.

    The Team

    At Aflac NI, we are building a diverse, multi-function Cyber Security Team to support our Global Security Program protecting our customers in the US & Japan. Over the next 3 years, the Aflac NI Security Team will grow to over 30 and take ownership of key components of the security program. We are integrating with the Global Security Team to strengthen existing functions and build new capabilities. 

    Working as part of the Aflac NI Cyber Security Team you will partner with the Aflac Global Security Team to plan, manage and execute on the Global Security Strategy. We’re aiming to assemble one of Belfast’s most adaptable and talented teams and are looking for individuals who can lead and deliver a complex program of work.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Driving department and organization-wide security initiatives from initiation to closure, including requirements gathering, planning,  tracking and reporting.
    • Managing projects using a mix of internal staff and 3rd party suppliers to successfully deliver projects
    • Leading international, cross functional teams in delivering strategic initiatives to improve systems, processes and deliver customer value.
    • Working with Security and IT stakeholders to develop project scope and solution requirements
    • Creating and maintaining detailed project plans with delivery milestones.
    • Ensuring adherence to standards for planning, scheduling and tracking projects and reporting status to project stakeholders
    • Identifying, monitoring and escalating risks, issues and dependencies impacting the successful execution of projects.
    • Conducting formal reviews with business sponsors at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction
    • Assisting in the implementation of a range of process improvements to bring maturity to project management practices across the global security organization.

    Skills & Experience

    The successful candidate will have both the project management experience and the technical knowhow within the cyber security industry.

    Essential

    • Bachelor’s degree in a computer related discipline and or 2+ years experience managing projects within cyber security
    • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills with ability to build relationships with technical, business and senior management stakeholders
    • Ability to design, plan and lead cross-functional project workshops
    • An ability to work under pressure against short timescales.
    • Working knowledge of Project Management and PMO Policies, Processes & Procedures, and methodologies and toolsets.

    Desirable

    • Project delivery using Waterfall and Agile methodologies as well as other best practices
    • Good working knowledge of network, infrastructure, application & cloud security best practices
    • Experience delivering projects implementing data protection technologies
    • Experience working with outsourced and internal delivery units
