We are recruiting for a Lead IT Developer/ Analyst Programmer who will lead the design, development and implementation of IT software and hardware solutions to support the Central Administrative Research Facility (CARF) and the Belfast Ophthalmic Reading Centre’s (BORC) research functions. Responsibilities will include the maintenance and development of data capture systems used in clinical trials in CARF/BORC and in NetwORC UK.
The successful candidate will develop and implement solutions to improve and streamline workflow, including data and image management, quality assurance, quality control and data cleaning. The Lead IT Developer will develop and maintain database connected systems, such as websites and web forms, within a .NET environment.

The School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. The Centre for Public (CPH) Health is one of three research Centres in the School and is based on the Royal Victoria Hospital Site. CPH is committed to identifying the epidemiological and genetic risk factors that are important for the health of the individual and of the population and to develop screening and interventions to reduce the burden of chronic diseases in the future.
The Belfast Ophthalmic Reading Centre (BORC) led by Prof Tunde Peto sits within CPH and undertakes grading of AMD on digitally acquired images, offers a comprehensive grading of fundus, angiographic and tomographic images of the posterior segment of the eye for a variety of diseases, and has an extensive portfolio of national and international studies.
