    Job Description

We're currently migrating to Oracle 19c and want you to join us on this journey. We need an Oracle DBA who loves everything about delivery to join us, make a difference to our output and improve our customers’ experience.

Here at Allstate NI we want our DBAs to be able to take control, so we work to the “Freedom of Action” principle, with the decisions for action being taken by those closest to the work. If you love the flash of a command line prompt and take great pride in connecting all the jigsaw pieces of an IT service, we think you’ll fit in well here.

Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

You’ll help us spin through our backlog as we expand into 19c, this includes making sure our infrastructure and applications are running smoothly and using your operational skills to advance our platforms’ resilience. Working closely with developers, test engineers and front-line support teams you’ll deliver high quality environments to meet the business needs.

You’ll have an opportunity to enhance your technical skills across a wide range of areas and pioneer new technology. You can quickly diagnose and resolve problems, you can spot why a database is behaving badly in a heartbeat, and you can collaborate with developers to resolve code versus infrastructure conflicts.

    Essential Criteria

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
