    Job Description

    Allstate Northern Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Allstate Corporation employing over 2,000 people in Belfast, Northland (Derry) and Strabane, providing support to the largest publicly held insurance company in the US.

    Recently Allstate Northern Ireland has diversified into Finance and Accountancy with a selection of exciting new roles, and we are seeking the best people with the freshest ideas to join and build our new team.

    This is a new role for a leader who has the ambition and drive to help expand the financial footprint within ANI. Our successful candidate will have a keen interest in financial analysis to make objective customer-focused and data-driven decisions by providing analytical insight, actionable data and recommendations.

    They will have a passion for problem solving, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to think conceptually, analytically and creatively

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    • Supervises staff and co-workers with respect to assigned work and processes
    • Determines own work priority and timelines and sets timeframes for self and team members.
    • Allocates work and mentors new team members.
    • Coordinates projects and program execution. .
    • Identifies actionable insights and recommendations to influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results across functional groups.
    • Develops analytics “story” and visual presentation strategies to ensure data is conveyed in meaningful and interpretive formats for all audience levels.
    • Analyzes structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources
    • Provides recommendations and forecasts
    • Reviews results, identifies variances to planned performance, analyzes causes of variance and makes actionable recommendations
    • Performs data analysis and evaluates trends
    • Identifies data elements needed to support business objectives
    • Integrates technical knowledge with business processes and functions
    • Presents insights and findings on major projects to leadership. Effectively communicates logic and technical processes supporting the analytic solutions.

    Essential Criteria

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
    • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent and 3 years of related experience in a Financial data driven environment.
    • Demonstrates depth and breadth of analytical expertise.
    • Advanced problem-solving skills with strong focus on attention to detail.
    • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (ex: SUMIF, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, Conditional Formatting, Pivot tables, IF statements)
    • Knowledge of data management and data visualization software (Business Objects, Tableau, SQL, SAS)
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex technical ideas
    • Intermediate time management skills including ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and organize
    • Effectively consult others and influence organizational change, behaviour and results
    • Applicants must be either EU citizens or possess a current UK visa which entitles the holder to take up full time employment, AND
    • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA.

    Desirable Criteria

    • Experience with relational databases and data warehouses (Oracle, Teradata)
    • Experience with project management and process modeling (PMBOK, waterfall, agile, BPM, Lean).
