    The role

    Working as part of the Software Development team you will be part of a busy team within a rapidly growing organisation. Operating within a quickly evolving industry, you will benefit from the numerous personal and professional development opportunities available throughout the Almac group to keep up to date with the newest advancements in your area of expertise.

    You’ll be part of a team who provide invaluable support to various aspects of the business in order to help us achieve our goal of advancing human health. You will gain exposure to many of our external customers too, working closely with them on an array of projects.

    As part of the Software Development team, you will embrace new technologies, share knowledge and provide guidance to other team members.

    As well as having a proven track record for delivering on time and to a high quality, you should also demonstrate an understanding of the importance of continuous improvement and will be encouraged to contribute to IS initiatives.

    Essential Criteria

    • Computer Science related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Ability to demonstrate competency and experience in Java and/or SQL development
    • Experience in web development framework’s such as Angular
    • Experience of delivery of software through a full Software Development Lifecycle (Waterfall or Agile)
    • Experience of unit testing frameworks, tools & practices such as Junit with TDD and Selenium
    • Use of source control, Build and CI tools such as Gradle, Ant, Maven, Jenkins, GIT and SVN

    Desirable Criteria

    (The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exist)

    • Experience of lightweight Java Frameworks such as Spring
    • Experience of a number of proprietary frameworks and tools such as:
      • Oracle JDeveloper
      • Oracle ADF
      • APEX
