ERP Architect - Senior Manager - Consulting

  • Responsibilities

    As a Senior Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to

    • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Directors and above

    • Be involved in the financial management of clients

    • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

    • Develop project strategies to solve complex technical challenges for our clients

    • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team

    • Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria

    • Train, coach, and supervise team members

    • Continue to develop internal relationships and developing your PwC brand


    The Opportunity

     

    PwC are looking for experienced Microsoft Dynamics ERP Solution Architects who are excited by the opportunity to own and execute the delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementations.

     

    The Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the delivery of our Microsoft Dynamics solutions, designing business-focused solutions using a holistic approach, understanding all systems involved and the impact proposed solutions will have on those systems. The role will be involved in the complete application lifecycle and will ensure best practice is adopted, providing technical leadership in projects, working closely with project leadership to guide technical resources to achieve the development and delivery of the solution. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively; therefore, will be equally comfortable talking with business owners as with programmers and infrastructure resources.

     


    Responsibilities and Duties
    • Lead the design and development of business processes that enhance the out of the box Dynamics 365 functionality

    • Identify and recommend customisations and enhancements

    • Provide gap-analyses, functional specifications for F&O enhancements and integrations to other business applications

    • Provide expert application configuration and design by optimising features, user experience, data integrity, and system performance

    • Drive the effective transition of requirements to delivery, ensuring a clear and complete understanding of the requirements thereby ensuring successful delivery

    • Preparation of implementation documentation to ensure the effective support of the application

    • Collaborate, manage and lead meetings with Functional/Business Leads and Technical Leads/Developers to ensure each phase of an implementation/development is executed with the solutions provided or recommended in a timely manner

    • Identify risks and mitigate or communicate as necessary

    • Experience of pre-sales including preparing and delivering product demonstrations to prospective clients

    • Engage with project teams to develop best practices in an effort to integrate and improve user experience

    • Define training needs within the team and coach other team members

    • Proactively extend self-knowledge of the Microsoft solution stack

     


    Experience
    • 10+ years ERP delivery with at least 5 years in Dynamics AX2012/F&O, from a functional, technical and architectural standpoint

    • Experience with Dynamics implementation in a Lead Design role

    • 7+ years' experience in facilitation, analysis and prototyping

    • 7+ years' understanding of and primary responsibility for solutions within Finance, Projects or HR

    • 5+ years' experience with multi-phase, enterprise-wide implementations

    • Solid understanding of interoperability issues and the strengths and weaknesses of platforms and products

    • Experience of enterprise scale ERP implementations

    • Experience of mentoring junior staff

    • Previous experience working with a Microsoft Gold Partner

     


    Attributes
    • University graduate with a relevant degree within a computational or business discipline

    • Skilled in the technical capabilities of Dynamics, Including appropriate certification

    • Strong and proven experience of implementing Microsoft Dynamics AX or F&O

    • Deep and broad capability of Microsoft Dynamics function including Financials or Project Management and Accounting

    • Exceptional understanding of both the technical and functional capabilities of Dynamics

    • Excellent presentation and demonstration skills

    • Business process mapping, modelling and documentation knowledge

    • Adept at Business Requirement Analysis with a focus on championing process change over development to simplify delivery

    • Training in project management methodologies (such as PRINCE2, Agile or Scrum) would be beneficial

    • Confident and effective communication skills

    • Thinks clearly and calmly under pressure

    • Investigates problems to establish real or hidden causes

    • Solves complex problems with creative solutions

    • Places emphasis on user satisfaction

    • Ability to prioritise and successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously

    • Must have the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
