  Job Description

  We are pleased to announce an opening within the Information Services Group for an Oracle Database Advisor 

  This position will be as a Database Advisor within the global Oracle DBA team that provides Database solutions to the Allstate Enterprise.

  Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

  • Liaise and support relevant application groups for database related issues / queries.
  • Lead major project efforts to determine technical scope and execution plan that align with the requirements of the project.
  • Lead incident reviews, troubleshoot Oracle issues, and perform health checks / quality reviews
  • Perform ongoing performance analysis, tuning and optimization
  • Automate redundant / recurring database tasks
  • Provide mentoring to other DBAs and act as escalation
  • Support initiatives within the CompoZed labs

  
  Essential Criteria

  • Have a minimum 5 Years’ experience as an Oracle DBA
  • Managing risks & issues
  • Stakeholder Management (including negotiating with Senior Leadership)
  • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment

  
  Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of shell scripting e.g. Linux / Unix Managing risks & issues
  • Knowledge or experience devops practices
