    Job Description

    Allstate Northern Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Allstate Corporation employing over 2,000 people in Belfast, Northland (Derry) and Strabane, providing support to the largest publicly held insurance company in the US.

    Recently Allstate NI has engaged with the Investments Technology department with a selection of exciting new roles. In order to help retain knowledge capital within the Allstate Corporation, Investments Technology is wishing to establish a small team at Allstate Northern Ireland and we are seeking the best people with the freshest ideas to join and build our new team.

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    Performance Measurement

    • Working closely with business professionals within Performance to develop and continuously improve our reporting infrastructure for monitoring, evaluating, and communicating returns across the investment portfolio.
    • Supporting and monitoring the inbound, outbound and event packages in the Performance Measurement application.
    • Maintaining existing platforms and creating new business solutions from inception to fully developed products.
    • Understanding and converting business requirements into tactical functional solutions.
    • Evaluating data issues through sound analysis and making recommendations for resolution.
     

    Data Integration

    • Working closely with multiple teams/organizations spanning the Investments Technology and Business areas, as well as external data vendors, to develop, support and continuously improve processes for moving data in and out of the Data Hub.
    • Completing programming assignments for data integration projects that support the goals of the Investment Department.
    • Supporting and monitoring the inbound, outbound and workflow packages in the Eagle PACE and Eagle Recon Center applications.
    • Maintaining existing platforms and participating in the creation of new business solutions from inception to fully developed products.
    • Understanding and converting business requirements into functional solutions.
    • Working closely with internal teams as well as Eagle Investment Systems resources to evaluate data issues through sound analysis and make recommendations for resolution.

     

    Essential Criteria

    • Third level degree qualification in computer science, mathematics, or equivalent.
    • 2+ years’ experience or knowledge with ETL techniques and tools, Data Warehousing and Data Modeling.
    • 2+years’ experience with PL/SQL
    • Demonstrated analytic agility and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability and desire to learn new languages and technologies.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Solid written and oral communication skills.
    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment
    • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA.

     

    Desirable Criteria

    • Experience with Eagle Investment Systems beneficial although training is available.
    • Experience in Application Batch support
    • Use a wide variety of tools and languages to achieve results (e.g., T-SQL)
    • Tableau, Informatica or SSIS is a plus.
    • Works well with others, strong written and verbal communication, comfortable with varying (and reactive) daily responsibilities.
    • Ability to work independently, inquisitive nature, and ownership mentality.
    • Break down business problems into solvable components to recommend solutions.
