Software Engineer Senior Consultant II

    Your role in the team

    The Software Engineer Senior Consultant II implements applications following 12-factor principles to build out the product and iterative enhancements. They own the full stack of software products, developing and implementing frontends and backend services. They leverage test-driven development and continuous integration to ensure agility and quality of products. They actively participate in the decision-making process of the team, ensuring that the simplest appropriate technology and design is chosen to meet user needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    · Demonstrate technical skills and aptitude needed to meet/exceed delivery velocity and quality expectations as a full stack developer.

    · Build and maintain frameworks/libraries/reusable components, applications, REST APIs, frontends, and abstraction layers.

    · Participate in daily product stand-ups, iteration planning, and retrospective meetings.

    · Contribute to shaping the architecture and design of the product; actively help the team in choosing the right technology and solving technical problems.

    · Establish and follow continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices.

    · Create and update technical product documentation.

    · Provide support to developers/engineers who use the team’s products.

    Essential Skills:

    ​· All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy. 

    · Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Java, Spring Boot, Python, React JS.

    · Minimum of 3 years’ experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Jasmine.

    · Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with distributed systems, operating systems, networking, databases, security, and analytics.

    Desirable Skills: 

    · Experience in Cloud Computing Environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

    · 1+ years’ experience designing and developing frameworks/libraries/reusable components.

    · 1+ years’ experience using GitHub and Jenkins.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
