Associate Site Operations Engineer

  • How You’ll Support Our Mission 

     

    At ESO we are dedicated to improving community health and safety through innovative cloud-based SaaS solutions. 
     
    We want to hire an Associate Site Operations Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE-Apps) team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of our multiproduct cloud-based SaaS environment. You will report to the SRE Manager as part of our global SRE-Apps team. 

      

    What You’ll Be Doing - The Day to Day: 

     

    • The Site Operations Engineer role within the team is responsible for the daily tasks that maintain these systems as well as identifying and fixing app/data related problems in our production environment.  
    • Common daily tasks include debugging, updating, and reprocessing healthcare submissions, retrieving customer data from different environments, writing SQL scripts, performing quality audits of customer data, and resolving or escalating customer-reported problems. 
    • On-call support during off hours on a rotational basis. Comfortable working with PagerDuty and Alerting systems. 
    • Excel at performing root cause analysis, documenting findings, resolving issues, and recommending permanent solutions to senior SRE members or dev teams.

    Who You Are - The Essentials  

     

    • 2+ years in an operational/cloud role (Azure, AWS, GCP) 
    • Experience with Linux and Docker 
    • Experience with a programming language (Python or C# preferred) 
    • SQL experience using SQL Server or related RDMS technology 
    • Familiarity with JSON/XML data 
    • Experience dealing with debugging large applications 
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills 

     

    Who You Are - The Desirables (It’s a plus if you have):  

     

    • Knowledge of XSLT 1.0 and 2.0 
    • Strong motivation to learn and work with new technologies. 
    • Familiarity with ticketing systems (JIRA/Confluence) 
    • Experience with scripting languages (Powershell preferred) 
    • Experience with Observability, Alerting and Monitoring (Azure Insights, New Relic and PagerDuty) 
    • Experience debugging software in a cloud environment especially Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS
