Senior BI Analyst

  • How You’ll Support Our Mission!

    In the pivotal role of Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst at ESO, you will be the driving force in harnessing data to enhance community health and safety. Your strategic vision will enable the synthesis of complex information into actionable intelligence, crucial for EMS, Fire RMS, and Hospital services.  

    Collaborating with diverse teams across prehospital, fire, and hospital product domains, you will lead the charge in offering data visualizations that not only inform but also compel action towards improving outcomes. 

    Reporting to the Senior Product Manager of Data, your expertise will be integral to our Product Management team, guiding the narrative that data tells across an extensive portfolio of products. 

    What You’ll Be Doing - the day-to-day:  

    As a Senior BI Analyst, you'll strategise and execute our reporting processes, transforming complex healthcare data into clear and actionable reports. You can leverage the domain expertise of industry experts across multiple teams and can effectively channel their input to produce high-quality dashboards that meet ESO’s high bar in terms of data integrity, quality, accessibility, and design.  

    You're adept at orchestrating the entire lifecycle of reporting, from gathering requirements to developing sophisticated data models and constructing interactive reports using leading-edge visualization tools such as Sisense and PowerBI. Your approach is methodical; you understand the 'why' behind every action and are propelled by the impact of your work.  

    Responsibilities: 

    • Architect and refine our dashboard development process, ensuring seamless collaboration across platforms with Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, and customers to deliver timely, high-impact visualizations. 
    • Fostering cross-platform coordination among Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, and customers to provide consistent and valuable visualizations tailored to each sector's needs. 
    • Champion our customers' reporting experiences, leveraging your expertise in data analysis and visualization to exceed expectations.
    • Curate and evolve data documentation for healthcare products, including ongoing enhancements to data specifications and schema.
    • Act in diverse roles encompassing data discovery, analysis, and the evolution of our reporting and dashboarding framework.
    • Perform in-depth root cause analysis on data discrepancies across the data platform's lifecycle, swiftly resolving issues reported by users. 

    Who You Are Some of the essential things required to be successful in the role:  

    • 5+ years experience working with data, analysis, and visual storytelling using BI tools such as Sisense, PowerBI, Qlik, or Tableau. 
    • Proficient in the maintenance and enhancement of cross-product SQL relational data models. 
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, multi-task, and synergize with multiple teams. 
    • A history of productive partnerships with product and technological units, fostering a collaborative atmosphere for shared success. 
    • Exceptional communication prowess, articulating complex ideas with clarity and purpose. 
    • A fervent advocate for converting data into insightful, actionable intelligence. 

    Who You Are - the desirables (It’s a plus if you have):  

    • Real-life clinical experience (EMT, paramedic, nursing, etc) or demonstrated interest in emergency services/community engagement. 
    • Proficiency in SQL including complex queries and schema development. 
    • Experience developing visualizations using open-source libraries such as D3.JS.
