    Our mission at Institutional Clients Group (ICG) Engineering and Architecture Practice (EAP) is to focus on ensuring architectural cohesion and delivering common, cross-functional capabilities across ICG Technology. This will be done by improving and upgrading our tools, streamlining our processes, automating, and strengthening our controls, and helping development teams adopt modern ways of working. As part of it, the Business Architecture practice will guide transformational IT improvements supporting ICG’s global functions.  

     

    The Business Architecture Analytics team is a new team within ICG Technology, Engineering and Architecture Practices, working within our Business Architecture function. Our mission is to enable more efficient data-driven decision making by capturing data and extracting metrics to create insightful visualisations. The platform will make it easier for senior business and technology leaders to understand the data and leverage the insights and metrics to drive future business architecture and investments decisions. 

     

    The Opportunity 
     

    The Senior Full-Stack Engineer will be responsible for working directly with stakeholders to build out the Business Architecture analytics platform by designing and delivering data insights that the platform will expose. This platform will continuously evolve as it supports more approved data sources. They will partner with a range of technology teams from across different front office ICG line of business and enterprise functions to ensure authorized data sources are used to connect and analyze information, to create actionable intelligence for our business and technology leaders. They will focus on the accuracy of the metrics and information displayed and take feedback on board to customise it in accordance with stakeholders’ requests. The role will grow as more complex data sets are analyzed and integrated in the platform.  

     

    This is both an exciting and challenging opportunity to join a growing team and help drive improvements to business architecture across global technology teams. 

     

    Responsibilities: 

    • Liaise with key stakeholders (product, development, UX designers), SMEs, to design and develop UI components that provide data visualizations of authorized data sources
    • Apply skills and knowledge to create highly-performant, extensible, secure, and scalable microservices
    • Ensure deliverables are properly tested end-to-end
    • Work with the SMEs to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical requirements
    • Engage and champion the culture of Engineering Excellence standards within the team (architectural design, code reviews, test coverage, etc)

     

    Characteristics/Experience: 

    • Significant hands-on development experience with Python building APIs and utilising libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark
    • Experience working with React, HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript
    • Experience building APIs with JAVA and J2EE (Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security)
    • Experience developing cloud-native applications leveraging technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift
    • Experience with NoSQL and/or Relational DB
    • Experience creating and delivering client centric analytics solutions to business problems with a holistic view of multiple businesses 
    • Experience working in an agile environment 
    • Must have a positive attitude and a readiness to lead from the front 
    • An excellent communicator who is collaborative by nature, gets on well with others and builds strong working relationships across the firm 
    • A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
