Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Hybrid)

    Team Overview:

    Citigroup ICG- Securities Services Technology- Infrastructure and Platform management team is looking for a strong Lead Cloud Engineer with Infrastructure / Delivery Project management experience.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap.

    • Ensure that all integration of functions meet business goals.

    • Define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process enhancements.

    • Recommend product customization for system integration.

    • Identify problem causality, business impact and root causes.

    • Exhibit knowledge of how own specialty area contributes to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and services.

    • Advise or mentor junior team members.

    • Impact the engineering function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services.

    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

     

    The role will include, following technical responsibilities;

    • Hands-on Cloud implementation with Microservices/ Platform delivery experience across a broad range of Cloud services.

    • Must have in depth knowledge of AWS platform architecture (Containerization - Docker, Amazon EKS, AWS Directory Structure, Lambda, EC2, S3 bucket, Route 53, ELB, Amazon DocumentDB, Amazon Kafka, PostgreSQL).

    • Strong knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipeline (GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven).

    • Experience in understanding core AWS platform architecture, including areas such as:  Organizations, Account Design, VPC, Transit Gateway, Subnet, segmentation strategies. 

    • Private Cloud Environment and application automation through Microservices architecture/ Engineering/ Design and Implementation.

    • AWS experience with at least 1 implementation (preferred in an Enterprise scale environment).

    • Experience with off-Premise (Public) as well as On-Premise (Private) application hosting on Cloud.

    • CloudFormation and third-party automation approach/strategy

    • Network connectivity, Direct Connect and VPN

    • Good knowledge of Encryption, Logging, and Privacy/Security Protocols (e.g. TLS 1.2, ELK stack).

    • Good knowledge of REST/SOAP/JSON web service API implementation.

    • Familiarity in developing Web Services with Python, JSON, Cassandra

    • Familiarity with Public cloud automaton tooling and scripting experience – CFn, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins.

    • Scripting capability and the ability to develop AWS environments as code is a Plus.

    • Backup and Disaster Recovery approach and design is a Plus.

    • Experienced in developing test plan, test cases, baselines, and conducting end-to-end testing is a Plus.

    • AWS Cost Management and Optimization is a Plus.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Extensive experience in Infrastructure delivery management.

    • AWS Certified Cloud engineer is preferred.

    • Strong background in the information technology / consulting/ financial services.

    • Good experience in Markets and Securities Services is a plus.

    • Subject Matter Expertise in infrastructure/ Hardware/ Software/ Database/ Middle ware stack and experience in implementing Engineering standards

    • Strong knowledge of infrastructure project management including End of Vendor support upgrade.

    • Experience managing infrastructure life cycle including upgrades and migrations.

    • Experience in writing range of technology physical and logical requirements and, Tech stack Functional Requirements Document, Build document, Dependencies mapping, etc.

    • Experience in driving business results through effective use of technology solutions.

    • Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices.

    • Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills.

    • Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams.

    • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.

    • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

    • Proven track record of operational process change and improvement.

     

    Skills

    • Experience in Cloud based technologies, Micro services, OpenShift, AWS, Google, Azure, etc.

    • Exposure level skills in SQL, Windows, Linux, Oracle, Kafka, MQ, Tomcat, JBoss.

    • Experience in managing Infrastructure projects for Enterprise Container Solutions/OpenShift/ Cloud by defining scope, dependencies, and priorities.

    • Knowledge of industry standard tools and technologies.

    • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.

    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.

    • Strong relationship builder, works as a partner with multiple stakeholders and business areas.

    • A self-starter who can deliver well as part of a team.

    • Ability to work under pressure during tight deadlines.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

     

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

    • Master’s degree preferred
