    The role:

    TPS (Trade Processing Services) is Citi’s Derivatives, Cash and Exotics trading platform with 160 talented engineers contributing on an application that is used in London, New York, Mexico, Rio, Singapore, Frankfurt, Singapore, Tokyo, Mumbai and Sydney. We are looking for an Experienced QA Test Engineer with extensive experience of interest rate derivatives to support our Belfast Derivatives development team under the umbrella of the wider Shanghai and Belfast Exotics team.  This is a great role for a QA Engineer with an interest in both the financial and technical worlds, combining traditional QA testing and technical automation of testing all done within the application that is at the heart of Citi’s very successful fixed income and derivatives trading environment.

    The QA Test Engineer provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results.


    Responsibilities:

    • Resolves variable and complex issues with substantial potential impact.

    • Identifies process efficiencies in support of unit objectives; recommends and implements new work procedures.

    • Develops a standard set of (organizational level) metrics related to the cost, effort and milestones of IT Quality activities.

    • Exhibits good understanding of concepts and procedures within own area.

    • Requires in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within IT Quality and has basic commercial awareness.

    • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.

    • Uses evaluative judgment in complicated or novel situations; uses multiple sources of information.

    • Impacts the area through delivery of end results and contribution to planning, finances/budget and formulation of policies.

    • Management responsibility for a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

     

    Knowledge/Experience:

    • Significant hands-on experience in Quality assurance.

    • Substantial hands-on experience in Selenium, Cucumber, Cypress & UFT/QTP.

    • Proficient with test management and defect tracking tools and associated reports, such as JIRA.

    • Basic knowledge on UNIX and shell scripting.

    • Basic understanding of financial market concepts.

    • Basic knowledge on Capital Markets Domain.

    • Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership and accountability.

    • Flexible, hands-on "doer", able to cope with changing requirements / time constraints.

    • Experience in working on multiple releases in parallel.

    • Knowledge of industry standard Testing tools.

    • Thorough knowledge of Testing lifecycle and methodologies.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Extensive experience in an IT Quality role with commensurate people management experience.

    • Proven organizational and time management skills.

    • Demonstrates quality improvements and metrics gathering

    • Requires communication and diplomacy skills and an ability to persuade and influence.

     

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
