    Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Belfast team. You’ll have a big impact across Apex Fintech Solutions. You’ll work in our Accounts team, building out new solutions for our accounts platform. This role will partner with our US based product team to impact the product strategy and our Belfast team to deliver customer features in a reliable, scalable, and secure product.

    This is a role for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Though our current project is written in Java, we routinely encounter and work in different languages, frameworks, and systems. We value engineers who are proficient in multiple languages because we know they can quickly learn the next one that comes up.
    This team are working on a brand new Greenfield project, building out a new KYC solution on the platform using all modern tech. Java is the main language, some of the other apps are in Golang. Everything is cloud based and team also work with Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Working with a variety of languages/frameworks, such as Java, Go, and technologies such as RDBMS, Kubernetes, and Docker, Google Cloud Platform
    • Attending training to learn about options trading and financial markets
    • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
    • Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise.
    • Writing high-quality, well-tested code. Maintaining high code-quality standards across your team via code reviews, mentoring & coaching.

    What you will need to succeed:

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related discipline or relevant years experience. 
    • Experience of software development skills in a modern object-oriented programming language ideally Java / Go, or Python or C# and the ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
    • Effective communication skills
    • Previous knowledge in financial markets isn’t required, but interest is a plus
    • Adaptability: while you enjoy establishing process and standards, you understand the need to be flexible and enjoy trying new things.
