The Team
Our teams are responsible for designing and developing workflow automation solutions using Pega. Check out Pega.com if you haven’t heard of the technology before – it’s pretty impressive. Although this technology has been around for a while, it has recently been supercharged and now offers impressive capabilities augmenting workflow automation with Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. At Aflac Northern Ireland we are utilising Pega to develop smart technology solutions that will directly improve our customer experience.
The Role
We want QA Engineers who are passionate about high quality outcomes for the customer and can put the end-user at the centre of their thinking. As part of our Agile teams, we will provide you with the opportunity to use the latest technology to serve our customers and sales agents and apply your skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing manual and automated tests of Pega built APIs and UI.
Key Responsibilities
• Working closely with the agile team to implement the testing and test automation strategy to ensure effective coverage
• Identifying and logging bugs and defects, working with engineers to resolve these issues and supporting regression testing.
• Developing expertise in product development and identifying opportunities to improve the user experience
• Create software tests (mostly automated, but some manual), while also ensuring the team follows disciplined quality practices.
• Supporting the continuous integration and delivery strategy
• Participating in system integration testing with colleagues from multiple global teams
• Continually improving engineering and testing processes
• Utilizing metrics to evaluate and provide information on system readiness, defect tracking, and other measurements as appropriate
Skills and experience
Below is an overview of the skills and experience we are looking for, but remember, don’t rule yourself out if you don’t have everything on the list – it’s your intellect and your attitude we are really after.
Essential
• 3+ years of IT experience with web and/or mobile testing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team environment, maximising the different strengths across the team
• Commercial experience of agile testing processes and the DevOps lifecycle
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM subject. Comparable commercial experience will also be considered
Desirable
• Experience of delivering Agile solutions for customers/clients located in different time zones
• Experience of implementing security standards that meet privacy requirements for web/portal/mobile applications
• Other valuable technologies: Robot Framework, Selenium, Python, GIT, REST-based API, and object-oriented concepts
• Experience with Pega Rules Process Commander
• Experience with different types of Agile project delivery
