The Team
At Aflac Northern Ireland, we are building a diverse, multi-function Cyber Security Team to support our Global Security Program, protecting our customers in the US & Japan. The Aflac NI Security Team has taken ownership of key components of the security program and are integrating with the Global Security Team to strengthen existing functions and build new capabilities.
The Aflac NI Security Team has been formed to bring subject matter expertise, thought leadership and innovative problem-solving techniques to enhance capabilities in support of the US Global Security Strategy.
This is an opportunity to join the team in its growth stages and play a key role in shaping and building its reputation within Aflac and the local Security Community. The intention is for our teams to continually adapt and reinvent their skills and capabilities over time as technologies change and evolve.
The Role
We are looking for a Communications and Program Manager who will support the Head of Cyber Security in building and communicating the success of the Aflac NI Security Program. This will require someone who is as comfortable developing plans and presentations with leadership, as is spending time in day-to-day operational activities that “get the job done.” We want someone who is self-motivated, uses their own initiative and will accelerate the effectiveness of a significant Cyber Security organisation. You will play a key role supporting the Head of Cyber Security in defining and refining the direction for the organisation, acting as an adviser and coordinating key initiatives for our teams. We will provide you with extensive opportunities to learn and grow, and want you to bring creativity, ingenuity, experience as we continue to build out our team.
What you'll be doing
- Creation and ownership of the Aflac NI Security Program communication plan
- Develop a suite of business review documentation to inform stakeholders at all levels
- Co-ordinate the execution of key initiatives and workstreams including Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Planning
- Manage continuous improvement efforts across the Aflac NI & Global Security Programs
- Work with Aflac NI Head of Cyber Security to measure program effectiveness and celebrate successes (there are lots!)
- Support recruitment activities and training programs for Aflac NI Security Team
- Assist with travel and event planning
- Build a program of team building and social events
- Creation of business cases for program spend
- Develop a community engagement plan for the Aflac NI Security Team
- Assist with the smooth on-boarding of new employees
- Skills and experience (don't worry if you don't have it all)
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT or business-related discipline and at least 3 years commercial experience in either a Chief of Staff, Program Manager or Project Manager role within an IT or Cyber Security Organisation or consultancy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor communication depending on the audience
- Excellent knowledge in O365 with emphasis on PowerPoint or similar presentation software
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and determine priorities while managing a high volume of tasks, deadlines and requirements
- Excellent people skills with the ability to successfully engage with and influence a broad range of individuals across various internal and external businesses and support functions
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience working for a Cyber Security company or managing a Cyber Security Program
- Experience of planning, managing and successfully delivering process improvement projects
- Experience facilitating strategic workshop sessions involving senior decision-makers
- Commercial experience in a consultancy or advisory role, preferable within a global consultancy company
- Working knowledge of the Atlassian suite of products including Confluence and Jira
