Global Support Manager

    The Role:

    The Markets Surveillance team at Citi monitors daily transactions across all of Citi’s capital markets businesses for indications of potential Market Abuse, Insider Dealing, and other types of fraud. As the internal technology partners supporting this mandatory regulatory function, we are continuing to deliver more sophisticated algorithms on our strategic internally designed and built platforms. As we further expand global coverage and deliver additional new Behavioral Analytics based solutions, the operational effectiveness of our systems is critical to meeting regulatory and business objectives. We are seeking a development / support senior manager to join the team in a newly created role.

    The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, and extensive career history across development and / or production support roles. You will partner with L1 & L2 production support teams, upstream data providers, and technology SMEs across a range of roles to provide a robust L3 support function emphasizing quick troubleshooting and recovery, transparent communications, and implementation of robust preventative controls. You will work directly with senior partners at SVP to Managing Director level across the teams, as well as leading production support and development SME staff at all levels and across all of our Markets Surveillance platforms. Analysis of system flows, implementation of improvement initiatives and coordination of issue management staff will be regular tasks in this role. Our solutions are built on a big data ecosystem using technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, Java and Python.

     

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will have the following:

    • Strong software development and / or technical production support background

    • Experience of introducing/implementing well-defined support procedures for large scale applications

    • Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques, structure potential solutions, and drive to resolution with senior stakeholders

    • High levels of creativity and a genuine affinity for out-of-the-box problem solving

    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and ability to discuss issues and solution details in both technical and business terms

    • A focus on implementing processes, controls, lessons learned, issue prevention techniques, and a determination to design robust and complete solutions

    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment

    • Meticulous planning and an organized approach to work

    • Positive and optimistic outlook

    • Strong leadership, with the ability to bring multiple technical teams together, both onsite and remotely, to work towards common goals and resilient systems

    • Ability to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level using sound judgment and successful execution, understanding how to operate effectively across diverse businesses

    • Staff / resource leadership and people skills as well as technical problem solving skills to navigate issues

    • Resiliency, ability to adapt to change and implement changes rapidly

    • Desire to always seek continuous innovation and improvement

     

    Background/Experience:

    • A FinTech or RegTech career history

    • Knowledge of, or a keen interest in, Trade Surveillance or Capital Markets technology systems

    • Experience working on technology solutions that leverage Big Data, Data Analytics, and Data Science techniques
