Credit Risk Technology Project Manager - SVP

    Overview of the team

     

    The Derivatives Credit Risk Technology Team is responsible for delivering Counterparty Credit Risk Management software solutions to Citi’s Risk organization which manages Citi’s exposure to financial institutions, governments and corporates that trade with Citi. The team builds and maintains software used to compute metrics that help mitigate Citi’s exposure to counterparty default. These include computation of optimal Margin Allocation for Portfolios and Trades, Haircut for Security and Cash Collateral, Trade and Collateral Liquidity, Collateral Concentration Levels and Wrong Way Risk, amongst others.

     

    Overview of the role

     

    The team is looking for a senior technology project manager with extensive experience managing large complex technology modernization projects in the Credit Risk space. The successful candidate will lead the project management function of complex software re-engineering projects retiring legacy Credit Risk applications. They will manage a team of software developers and QA staff, both direct and matrix, and will be accountable for the successful delivery of the new software, and complete retirement of the legacy software.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all components of the development and implementation of multiple highly complex projects, providing a broad end to end oversight from identifying the correct business and technical requirements, partnering with the various Development, BA, QA and Production support teams to enable successful retirement of legacy software.

    • Provide deep Credit Risk SME expertise guiding various stakeholders towards effective solutions.

    • Develop detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.

    • Evaluate subordinates' performance and provide inputs on compensation decisions, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.

    • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions.

    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

     

    Knowledge/Experience:

    • Substantial years in a leadership role delivering Technology projects, ideally in the Credit Risk domain.

    • Significant years related experience in Technology in the Capital Markets domain in different capacities across business analysis, project management, user support and/or production support.

    • Excellent understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk:

      • Potential Future Exposure, Margin (ISDA MNA and CSA), Collateral Haircut, Liquidity and Period of Risk, Settlement Risk.

      • Understanding of Basel III/IV and any other relevant Risk Regulations and measures including PSE, RWA, EAD.

      • Knowledge of Market Risk an advantage including Credit Value Adjustment (CVA).

    • Comprehensive experience with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle.

    • Extensive project management experience, including co-ordination across remote global teams.

    • Working knowledge of at least one general purpose programming language, Java preferably.

    • Extensive experience with SQL, scripting and UNIX.

    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure managing multiple activities and changing priorities.

    Qualifications/Education

    • Graduate or a Master’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline.
