Tech Craic: Damien Caldwell - Techies in Residence

  • This week journalist Niamh Campbell speaks with Damien Caldwell from Damgeo. He has worked with Northern Ireland's Techies in Residence for the past few years, which is an initiative that matches charities and social enterprises across NI with digital technology partners.

Last year, Damien worked with Newry-based Centred Soul through Techies in Residence to develop an online platform that supports those with perinatal ill mental health (which affects parents during pregnancy or in the first year following the birth of a child).

The organisation secured a £10,000 seed fund award for further development of the platform to include website integration, health and wellbeing scales and a localised directory of services.

Damien also gives some advice for tech professionals hoping to apply to this year's Techies in Residence programme.
